Athletics for All

About Us

We are an inclusive community that helps everyone fulfil their potential through structured and sociable coached training sessions.

We are athletic in a broad sense. We run, we jump, we throw. We cycle and we swim. We encourage everyone to enjoy moving more to the best of their abilities. All this is done in tune with our natural environment in the Vale of York.

Come down to a session and see for yourself. New members are always welcome, as are guests visiting the area. We assure you warm welcomes and friendly smiles. Everyone of us has been a new member at some point.

The Vale of York stretches from the Humber Estuary in the South, to the River Tees in the North. For now, we train Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays in Selby and the surrounding villages.

Selby Leisure Centre is our base, but check our Run Together group for session times and start points.

We Keep it Fun

We might take our training seriously, but we know how to have fun too. Being social is the cornerstone of everything that we do. Face-to-face or online, we always make time to support each other.

Partners & sponsors

Our partners and sponsors provide invaluable financial and technical support. We have a grand vision of an athletic track that we can call our home. Can you help us realise our ambitions?

Why Vale of York?

Small and Sociable

We are small enough to know everyone by name and although we take our training seriously, we also like to have fun.

We Care a Lot

We support our local communities and respect the local environment. All Vale of York athletic apparel is ethically sourced from sustainable materials. We aim to give more than we take.

Consistent Coaching

We are firm believers in the power of consistent coaching. We schedule sessions in blocks of 12 and we stick to them.

A Warm Welcome

We know that coming to a club and meeting everyone for the first time can be daunting. That's why our coaches and run leaders always look for new members and take time to say hello and welcome you on board. You'll find everyone in the club to be friendly and encouraging. They've all made that first step at some point and remember how challenging it can be.
